Pacifica Beauty Products: Are They Worth The Hype?

Pacifica Beauty was probably the first vegan+cruelty-free beauty brand I had ever heard of and I give major props to them because it makes my life SO much easier to shop for VCF products this way. A few weeks ago, I decided I needed to try a vegan shampoo so I went to my local Target to pick one out from Pacifica. And we all know what Target does to us, so I ended up leaving with a few other Pacifica products too. 🙂 But are these products worth all the hype?

Today, I am going to review the six different Pacifica products I purchased. So get ready, because you might find yourself heading to Target after you read this.

1. Sea Water Makeup Removing Wipes

I love makeup remover wipes. They are perfect for those nights where I just really don’t feel like washing my face (we all have those lazy days). The Sea Water Makeup Remover Wipes uses sea algae, coconut water, coconut milk, and banana extract to naturally remove your makeup.

Overall, these makeup remover wipes were great at taking off my makeup. I didn’t have to scrub my face with them or wipe my face excessively. The only issue I had was that they didn’t take off my waterproof mascara very well, but the next day I wore regular mascara and the wipes took it off fairly quickly.

2. Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic

Along with makeup remover wipes, I also tried the Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic. The Micellar Cleansing Tonic can be used to remove dirt, oil or makeup to leave your skin revitalized.

I actually enjoyed using the cleansing tonic more than the makeup remover wipes. They were great for removing even my waterproof mascara and was a bit more gentle on my face. My skin felt refreshed and clean after using it. I definitely recommend this product. There are a few scents you can choose from when picking out the Cleansing Tonic as well.

3. Coconut Power Strong and Long Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner

I was super excited to try vegan shampoo and conditioner for the first time. For more cruelty-free shampoo options , you can click here. There is a variety of shampoos by Pacifica that you can buy based on your hair type or what you want to achieve. I have long, fine, thick, straight hair that tends to dry out, so I went with the Coconut Power Strong and Long Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner.

Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of this shampoo. I like to wash my hair every 3 or 4 days, but with this shampoo, I found myself having to wash every other day, if not every day. The first day after washing, my hair would definitely be clean, but I would have oil buildup on my scalp the next day so I had to wash again. So, this wasn’t really the shampoo for me because of that.

If you prefer to wash your hair everyday, you definitely can with this shampoo and it smells great. It is made with natural ingredients so there is no need to worry about harsh chemicals that would strip your hair of its natural oils by washing everyday, which is a huge plus!

4. Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara

Hands down my favorite Pacifica product I have tried so far is the Dream Big Lash Extending 7 in 1 Mascara. My eyelashes can be so frustrating because they naturally want to stick straight out, but with this mascara my lashes have never been longer, fuller, or more gorgeous. I have tried other vegan mascaras as well, and this is the only one that I have found where the fibers don’t fall off my lashes or irritate my eyes.

The 7 in 1 Mascara includes:

  • Lash Serum
  • Instant Length
  • Lash Lift
  • Volume
  • Conditioner
  • Rich Color
  •  2 in 1 Brush

The 2 in 1 brush is the most amazing part. You can extend the brush long to add length, and just twist the cap to shorten the brush for volume. This product is pure amazingness.

5. Devocean Natural Lipstick in Tenderness

The Devocean Natural Lipstick contains shea butter, jojoba oil, vitamin E, and the color is created by using minerals. And it smells like coconut. 🙂

I really loved how pigmented this lipstick was. With just one swipe across each lip, I rub my lips together and have the perfect pout. The color Tenderness was the perfect pink neutral for my taste. The lipstick was also super moisturizing.

This lipstick is not meant to be long-lasting, however. The main reason for this is because the lipstick is not transfer proof, so eventually it all came off. To maintain the color, I had to reapply every few hours, but it was also adding more moisture to my lips, so it was kind of a win. If reapplying doesn’t bother you, I would recommend giving this lipstick a try.

6. 7 Free Polish in Dolphin, Treasured, and Matte Top Coat

img_3708.jpgVegan nail polish is hard to come by. I was excited to pick out a few colors from Pacifica, knowing I didn’t have to worry about any animal-derived ingredients used to achieve the color. I decided to try a variety of colors, including Dolphin (a sea blue/green), Treasured (a metallic orange) and Matte Top Coat (because why not).

Each color was highly pigmented. I used two coats because that’s my style, but I could have easily gotten away with one coat. Both colors were beautiful. Dolphin is perfect for spring/summer and Treasured will be perfect for Fall.

The wear could be better, as the polish started to chip off my nails after a few nights of washing dishes. Using a top coat polish did help, though. I applied a clear top coat every few days and that definitely helped the longevity of the color, which is honestly going to help any nail polish last longer.

As for the Matte Top Coat, that is going to take some getting used to. The matte look is extremely different than your average clear top coat polish. I’ll have to continue to experiment with it to find the best nail look with it. But it was cool to try something new!
