Is Freeman Cruelty-Free?

If you are wondering if Freeman is 100% cruelty-free, you are not alone. I have received this question on Instagram from many of you. More people are becoming concerned about how Freeman produces their products and if they conduct any animal testing. Keep reading to find out if Freeman is a 100% cruelty-free brand.

Any brand listed as cruelty-free on Free The Bunnies has absolutely no ties to animal testing, including the parent company, and cannot sell in China. You can read more about the Free The Bunnies standard here.

Is Freeman Cruelty-Free?

Freeman claims that their brand is committed to being cruelty-free. However, Freeman sells in China, a country that requires animal testing by law. Freeman products are also not made in China. Because of this, the brand must send their products off to animal testing laboratories before the products hit the market. Selling in China exposes Freeman products to pre-market animal testing and puts them at risk for post-market animal testing. Freeman is NOT 100% cruelty-free. They are on the Brands to Avoid list.

But there’s a Bunny Logo on Freeman’s Website

Freeman has a bunny logo on their website, advertising that the brand is cruelty-free. Unfortunately, the term “cruelty-free” is not regulated. Any brand can claim they are cruelty-free, no matter how true it is. The bunny logo Freeman uses is not an official bunny logo from a cruelty-free certified organization. The brand either generated the label themselves or pulled it from the internet. To read more about cruelty-free labels and how to spot a fake one, click here.

The bunny logo on Freeman’s website is not official, and does not guarantee that the brand is truly cruelty-free.

I hope this helped whether or not to support Freeman products if you’re out shopping cruelty-free. If the brand pulls out of China and truly becomes cruelty-free, I will be sure to update this post.
